In the late eighties a young girl from Zadar kept on winning a local musical competition representing her town on a TV show called "Demo X". That brought her to the attention of famous Croatian composer Rajko Dujmic. After he saw her performing live with the band "Riva", he offered collaboration. The Song "Rock Me", which Dujmic wrote became an instant hit and was chosen to represent the former Yugoslavia at the Eurovision Song Contest (1989).

In the following years "Riva" was a household good in many European countries, playing top musical shows in Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Sweden.. Overseas they represented the Eurovision Song Contest in Nashville, TN at "Distant Accords Award", and were highly present in the Japanese pop charts.

After two recorded albums war broke out and "Riva" played a lot of humanitarian gigs throughout the homeland. War roars, muses are silent, the band eventually parted their ways...

In 1994. Emilija is back with the new single "Javi Se" which became a big hit, breaking the charts all over the country. Another single, is out before the album "Ostavi Trag" with a very successful duet With Nina Badric "Ja Sam Vlak" is released.
