Romanca has remixes! Listen to them...
01. May 2008, 10:04

Jana Valdevit and Eddy Ramich are "responsible" for the making of two remixes of "Romanca", the Croatian entry at Eurovision Song Contest 2008. Find out more about them in this interview and feel free to listen to this, what many people thought to be, mission impossible.
1. What kind of music do you listen to?
Mostly, we listen to the same kind of music that we represent (especially Eddy as DJ and music editor on Radio 101). 'Black music', of course, comes first but since it is practically impossible to determine a music stile with any precision, I think we can say that we listen to everything new, possible to dance to and simply beautiful music.
2. What is your opinion on the song 'Romance' in its original form?
All in all, a job well done! By far the best song offered to us on Dora. Plus, I am what you might call a fan of the Kings, after all I hear them on the square almost every day, I honestly don't know if there is any performer in Croatia with more (performances) 'gigs' behind them.
3. What did you first think of when you were offered to make a remix of the song?
First we wondered if it was a mission impossible, but then we listened to all the elements very carefully and came to the conclusion it would be a shame not to do a remix, especially if you take into account that we don't often get the chance to work with so many live parts (strings, cymbal, guitar, harmonics...)
4. What is the difference between the first and the second remix; i.e. what can you say about each of them?
The second remix is not really a remix, it's more a dub (a term used for instrumental versions aimed for the clubs). We've used the same elements in both, the only difference is that in one the vocal mix is determined by vocals and the dub form is adapted to DJ treatment.
