RTS bids for 2009 Junior Eurovision hosting

Serbia's national network RTS is placing a bid for the 2009 Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC). The country also bid for the 2008 contest but lost out to Limassol, Cyprus. Serbia's chances are now extremely high after hosting a successful 2008 Eurovision Song Contest.

The bidding city is Vrsac located in North-eastern Serbia. The picturesque town would host the event in the Millenium Centre - a 4,058 seat modern sports hall. The venue was one of the hosts of the 2005 European Basketball Championships which were held in Serbia and Montenegro. The venue was successfully tested when RTS organised the JESC national selection there last year. (oikotimes.com)
